Principal
With over 32 years experience in the field of civil engineering and fire protection, Ken Chow is the principal of the firm and the primary engineer on projects. He has provided building code analysis, Alternative Solution (Equivalency) and Certified Professional services for several hundred projects that range in size from 2 to 46-storey buildings. He specializes in smoke management modelling, combustion calculation, computer modelling of fire scenarios, and human behaviour in emergencies.

Susana D. Chui (P. Eng, P.E., C.P.)
Senior Code Engineer
Susana Chui has extensive experience and expertise in building code analysis and review. She also provides drawing review, Alternative Solution, and Certified Professional services for many projects.

Richard Lau (E.I.T.)
Junior Engineer
Richard Lau is a fire protection and building code engineer-in-training. He works with the senior engineers on code conformance issues, field reviews and Alternative Solution development.

Dr. George Hadjisophocleous (Ph.D., P.Eng.)
Senior Fire Modelling Engineer
Dr. Hadjisophocleous' research focuses on the different aspects of fires in buildings to help reduce the risk from fires on life and property. He is chairman for the Industrial Research on Fire-Safety Engineering, which purposes to develop and test tools that can be used by fire engineers in designing fire protection systems for buildings. Part of his research involves using computer models to predict the performance and fire-safety of light-frame wood buildings, which are commonly used in the construction of newer homes.

Donald Mills (P. Eng, P.E.)
Senior Quality Control Engineer
Don Mills has over 40 years of engineering experience in large building projects. He has worked on a part-time basis with Ken Chow on over 30 major projects.

John Chow (AScT)
Senior Code Technician
John Chow has been involved in the construction industry for over 30 years and has superintended major projects costing up to several million dollars. He provides field services for Certified Professional projects.

Emily Fong is a drafting technician with experience in building code drawings and code calculations.

Brian Lee works on code drawings and calculations as a member of our drafting team.

Darlene Yampolsky
CP Administrator & Office Manager
Darlene Yampolsky is responsible for the execution of all permit documents and reports. She is familiar with the tasks and processes of the Certified Professional program.

Helen Low is responsible for project and office administration, including project cost control, invoicing and accounting.
